    Great suuport

Posted by Tom on Jan 29 2016

The main point I want to make is that the support from Abundant Flow was excellent. They were easy to contact and helped me with all my questions. We only have the unit installed for a month or so but so far no problems. Easy to setup and Operate. There was some confusion about the O-ring in the control head but other than not everything was as I would expect. I also tested our water and the hardness is definitely gone: from 12-15 GPG to basically zero so that unit is functioning as I would expect.

    Excellent Product, straightforward installation.

My original water softener got to the point where it couldn't maintain pressure in the system if more than one faucet was open. It was an older, low end, and well-used unit, and the resin was beyond its life expectancy. Because it was old I decided to replace the whole unit instead of just the resin. I Googled "best water softener," and a couple sites came up that listed the Fleck 5600 SXT at or very near the top. I found it on Amazon and checked the website of the vendor they listed, which was Abundant Flow. I noticed the scripture in their logo and decided to give them a call. After a short conversation I decided to order direct. It shipped and arrived when they said it would, and was delivered undamaged. While I waited for it to come I studied the installation manual I downloaded from their website. It is almost overly detailed/repetitive, but it needs to be because of those who might be too over-experienced or under-experienced. (Yeah, you read that right.) I'm a fairly handy person, so when I was satisfied I understood the steps involved, I performed the installation myself. It went smoothly. If you decide to do your own installation, here's a few hints that may help streamline the process: First of all the Fleck unit is taller than most low end softeners, so you may have to purchase longer flex tubes. Just make sure you do this before you begin the installation process. Abundant Flow recommends pre-loading the resin and soaking it for 12-24 hours. Although they provided a nice funnel, it would have been even nicer if they would have provided a plug or cap to cover the riser tube while pouring the resin into the cylinder. BTW if they send gravel, DO use it. Just pour it in before the resin. While you are filling the cylinder make sure it is close to its final location. It is heavy and difficult to move when it is full of the gravel, resin, and water. If you currently have a softener and if it has its own bypass valve, put the valve into BYPASS and disconnect it from the softener, leaving it in the house circuit. This will allow you to continue to use water (although it will not be softened) while you pull out the old softener and complete the installation of the new one. After you are satisfied that everything new is properly connected together, THEN turn off water to the house, disconnect the old tubes, connect the new tubes, check for leaks, and turn water back on to the house. This shouldn't take more than a few minutes, and you will be able to resume using (the unsoftened) water while you complete the installation of the brine tank, tubing, etc. If you have any questions about installation, stop and call the great guys at Abundant Flow before making a guess that might turn out to be wrong. They are friendly, courteous, and really know their stuff.

48K Water Softener/Carbon Tank System (Whole House)

Posted by Dan Hembree on May 17 2015

After performing countless hours researching various water systems, I decided to purchase a tandem tank water system from Abundant Flow Water. Due to family allergies and other sensitivities, I opted for a standard carbon tank with a customized blend of media, followed by 48k grain water softener w/ brine storage tank. In addition, we added two tandem 20" big blue post filters. Since I intended to reroute water lines and install the system myself, I had a little extra room in my budget. I enjoy DIY projects, so this was a perfect option. The equipment and carbon media arrived on one full pallet, shrink wrapped and boxed up securely to minimize potential damage in transit. I noticed one of the control heads was equipped with a smaller (1.25") inflow/outflow adapter (I had ordered 1.5") than originally ordered. Upon discovering, I spoke with Mark and he promptly sent out the correctly sized adapter, with a pre-paid envelope for the returning part. The water system has been fully operational for approximately 1 month (install date 4/25/11) and we are very pleased with both the water quality and performance of the system. I've compared my system with other more well-known brands and can say the quality is either equivalent or better in most cases. Overall, I am very happy with our decision to purchase from AWF. Thank You Mark for your timely responses to my email questions and quick turnaround for misc parts.

    GREAT SOFTENER

Posted by Ken E. on Mar 13 2015

The softener arrived in record time ( one day sooner than expected ). Since we already had a whole house water softener ( the one that doesn't use salt ) it was simply a matter of swapping out the old for the new. The setup was easy and now we have a softener that actually gives you soft water. I also noticed that you don't get the slimy feeling when you shower, very nice !

48k Water Softener with Fleck 5600SXT 48,000 Grain Digital Whole House System

Posted by Monette F on Feb 18 2015

I did a lot of research before I purchase a water system. Some were quite expensive and did the same this as this one. I also considered salt free and reverse osmosis (BAD idea - do not go there!). I hated having to replace the salt but being alone - it won't be that big a deal. Also I was afraid the water would feel slimy but it doesn't. When I finally found someone to install (this is really the BIG expense - 3 to 5 times what you pay for the system) we had to call the company with a question and they were right there on the spot. Wonderful customer service. I took a photo of 2 big glass measuring cups - one washed before and one washed after in the dishwasher - unbelievable! Very happy.

    Good product, great customer service!

We had received your water softener in record time and in perfect condition. We use only two bags of salt and have the most softest water. Also, the salt lasts a long time. The on line video on how to program the controller made the entire process a breeze. We saved several hundred dollars purchasing this unit from you. I gave you a 5 star rating. I am an honest person and I like to help people with an honest review and give credit where credit is due, as in good feed back. This is a good product and you are doing great customer service, I wanted you to know that. Thank you so very much again.
