Bone Char Carbon Media

Bone char carbon is produced by the calcination or "dry distillation" of cattle bones at temperatures approaching 1000°C in the absence of oxygen. The tricalcium phosphate in bone char carbon can be used to remove fluoride, arsenic, metal ions from water, making it useful for the treatment of drinking supplies. It is the oldest known water defluoridation agent.

Reduces or Removes Fluoride, Arsenic, and Radioactive Isotopes

Reduces or removes a wide range of chemicals & odors better than standard carbon, including fluoride, arsenic, radioactive particles, chlorine, chloramines, herbicides, pesticides, MTBE, THM, bromine, and manganese.

Reduces or Removes Metals

Bone char carbon has high adsorptive capacities for certain metals, particularly those like copper, zinc, iron and cadmium. Other more toxic metal ions can also be removed, such as those of lead, mercury, aluminum, and silver.

13 GPM Service Flow

Treats a maximum flow rate of 13.0 GPM - See more info tab for details

7.5 GPM Backwash Flow

Requires a minimum of 7.5 GPM available for backwashing - See more info tab for details

Fleck 2510SXT Digital Control Head

The digital control head provides LCD display and touchpad controls, allowing for simple, user-friendly integration. This is combined with the reliability and durability of the automatic Fleck 2510SXT control valve.

Structural USA Resin Tank

Durable, high quality polyglass tank made by a trusted name in tank manufacturing

DIY Installation

Simple system connections and detailed installation instructions allow most homeowners to install this system themselves. For those who prefer to leave the work to a professional, most plumbers can install the system in 1-2 hours.

Product Description

Bone char carbon has a very high surface area and adsorbtion potential than standard granular activated carbon (GAC) do to its method of production. This provides excellent removal or reduction of fluoride, arsenic, radioactive isotopes, heavey metals, chlorine, chloramines, and other chemicals, tastes, and odors. These systems are intended for water supplies with little to no sediment or particulates. High-flow system for 2-3 bathrooms and 3-4 people OR treating up to 13 GPM.

Homes on city water will enjoy chlorine, chloramine, fluoride, and arsenic removal, eliminating a harmful chemical and preventing health problems that may be associated with these contaminants in your water. Homes on well water will benefit from the removal herbicides and pesticides that can find their way into water supplies. In both cases, filtration with bone char carbon improves the appeal and health benefits of water, removing tastes and odors that can discourage healthy drinking water habits.

Controlled by the Fleck 2510SXT digital control head, this system automatically backwashes. The backwash process uses no chemicals, simply using the force of water to clean the media and flush the contaminants down the drain. Made by Fleck, the #1 manufacturer of control heads in the US, the digital control head provides LCD display and touchpad controls, allowing for simple, user-friendly integration. The 2510 valve also offers dual drive motors, providing dedicated control for piston movement and system timing. This allows for stronger piston control, fewer parts (since there are no connecting gears required) and longer, more reliable operation.

Service Flows
Service flow rate is the manufacturers recommendation for maximum removal of all contaminants at a constant flow. Intermittent flow rate, lower contaminant levels and/or fewer contaminants MAY allow higher treatment flow rates.

Backwash Flow Rates
The backwash flow rate is the minimum rate that MUST be available to ensure proper backwashing and adequate media life. While lower flows can be used and MAY provide adequate results, using less than the recommended flows WILL void the 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Warranties on the tank and control valve will remain unaffected.
