Designed for homes with 1-2 bathrooms and 2-4 people and/or homes with flows matching system capacities
Requires regeneration with Potassium Permanganate to rejuvinate the media a allow for continued treatment
Causes red/orange staining with levels as low as 0.3 ppm. Treats both ferrous (clear water or dissolved) and ferric (red water or oxidized) iron.
Can cause black slime buildup in toilet tanks and may impart a metallic taste to the water
The cause of rotten egg odor. Incorrectly referred to as sulfur most of the time.
Treats flow rates up to 5.5 gallons per minute - See More Info tab for details
Requires a minimum of 5.5 GPM available for backwashing - See More Info tab for details
Durable mechanical valve with higher backwash abilities reduces maintenance costs when compared to similar systems with the Fleck 5600 valves
Durable, high quality polyglass tank made by a trusted name it tank manufacturing
Highly effective media remoes iron, hydrogen sulfide (sulfur), and manganese in a variety of applications
Simple system connections and detailed installation instructions allow most homeowners to install this system themselves. For those who prefer to leave the work to a professional, most plumbers can install the system in 1-2 hours.
Iron is a common problem in homes today. It causes red staining on fixtures, as well as turning clothes and sometimes even your hair a reddish orange color. Iron bacteria is sometimes present in water with iron, creating a slimy build up in standing water (such as your toilet tank) and can smell like rotting vegetation. Hydrogen Sulphide (mistakenly called sulfur quite frequently) is easily detected by the presence of a "rotten egg" odor, and is sometimes associated with yellow staining. Manganese is most often seen as a black slimy substance that builds in standing water, and may impart a metallic taste to the water.
The Greensand system provides high removal levels at a low price. One of the most popular systems by local distributors, these systems provide excellent treatment in a variety of applications. The media is coated with an oxidizer that allows the system oxidize the contaminates, and in their oxidized form the contaminates are easily trapped. The system periodically backwashes itself to rinse the contaminates down the drain and regenerates the coating with potassium permanganate.
Controlled by the mechanical Fleck 2510 control head regeneration is automatic to reduce the required maintenance. In addition, the 2510 valve provides durability and backwash flows that exceed the abilities of the 5600 valve commonly used on Greensand system, further reducing maintenance requirements.

Service flow rate is the rate (in gallons per minute) at which the media can effectively treat your water. The lower number is the rate at which the media can constantly treat the water, the higher number is the peak rate that can be treated periodically. Service flow rates are based on the manufacturers recommendation for maximum contaminate removal for the media alone, lower contaminate levels MAY be effectively treated at higher flow rates.
Backwash Flow Rates
The backwash flow rate is the minimum rate that MUST be available to ensure proper backwashing and adequate media life. While lower flows can be used and MAY provide adequate results, using less than the recommended flows WILL void the 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Warranties on the tank and control valve will remain unaffected.
Was looking for quality products at a good price and was pleased with the result. I had it together and working with no issues in about 30 min.
Also impressed with the quick shipping.
