Maintenance and Replacement

Brackets are about as low-maintenance as water treatment hardware gets, but they are not fit-and-forget:

• Inspect for corrosion or damage, particularly in damp basements and unheated spaces. The powder coat is durable, but a deep scratch exposes bare steel
• Check mounting screws annually and after any cartridge change that required real force
• Watch for movement or vibration in the assembly, which usually means a fastener has backed off
• Confirm housings remain properly supported and are sitting square in the bracket
• Replace a bent or damaged bracket before fitting a new cartridge. A bracket that has already deformed under load will not improve with another twenty pounds on it
