Causes red/orange staining with levels as low as 0.3 ppm. Requires dissolved oxygen in excess of 4 ppm
The cause of rotten egg odor. Incorrectly referred to as sulfur most of the time.
A common disinfectant used in many city water treatment plants. Harder to remove with standard carbon than regular chlorine
Removes a wide range of chemicals including chlorine, chloramine, herbicides, pesticides, MTBE, and THM
Requires a minimum of 9.2 GPM available for backwashing - See more info tab for details
Larger valve allows for higher backwash flows required for larger systems
Durable, high quality polyglass tank made by a trusted name it tank manufacturing
Synthetic carbon media provides catalytic removal of a wider range of contaminants while providing longer life than standard activated carbon
Simple system connections and detailed installation instructions allow most homeowners to install this system themselves. For those who prefer to leave the work to a professional, most plumbers can install the system in 1-2 hours.
Product Description
Carbon filtration is a great addition to any home, providing cleaner, better tasting water in just about any situation. Using catalytic carbon allows for the additional filtration of iron, as well as much longer life when removing hydrogen sulfide (sulfur). Backwashing tank systems provide all the benefits of carbon filtration, without the constant maintenance and cost associated with cartridge filters.
Designed with iron and hydrogen sulfide removal in mind, catalytic carbon does an excellent job of removing both contaminants. In addition, catalytic carbon is better suited for chloramine removal than standard activated carbon. As with standard carbon, a wide range of other tastes, chemicals, and odors are filtered out as well.
Controlled by the Fleck 2510SXT control head, this system automatically backwashes. The backwash process simply forces water rapidly through the system in reverse direction, lifting the media and flushing accumulated particulates down the drain. Made by Fleck, the #1 manufacturer of control heads in the US, the 2510SXT control head allows for higher backwash rates needed to ensure maximum media life.Digital touchpad controls offer a simpler interface and more control over the system.

Service flow rate is the manufacturers recommendation for maximum removal of all contaminants at a constant flow. Intermittent flow rate, lower contaminant levels and/or fewer contaminants may allow higher treatment flow rates. In most applications intermittent flow rates of 2-3 times the rated flow rate MAY be possible.
Backwash Flow Rates
The backwash flow rate is the minimum rate that MUST be available to ensure proper backwashing and adequate media life. While lower flows can be used and MAY provide adequate results, using less than the recommended flows WILL void the 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Warranties on the tank and control valve will remain unaffected.
