The Iron Defender Max system uses dedicate iron filtration media to provide the highest level of iron removal in our Iron Defender series. Birm media provide good stand alone iron treatment, made even more effective by the air injection. It is a lower cost option for homes that do not need the higher capacity of more expensive iron filters. It is also a great option for homes with soft water, pre-existing water softeners, or any situation where iron treatment with a water softener is not desired.
