The ions that comprise hard water attract soap molecules, requiring more soap to get the job done. Water softeners use an ion-exchange process to remove the ions that create hard water, eliminating hard water and the problems associated with it. 64K softener with Fleck 5600
Rock solid unit...not fancy, but a long track record of proven simplicity and reliability. IMO, the newer electronic control valves are more efficient, but there is also more to go wrong, and they are more expensive to fix. Easy install with no issues. Very effective at treating hard water (20 gpg at our install site) with Fleck recommended settings. Purchasing from AFW Filters was seamless...best deal with free ship. Unit arrived very quickly with all advertised/ custom ordered parts included and was damage and defect free. Would highly recommend both this unit and AFW Filters, and will purchase from them again.
