Description
Product Features
Synthetic carbon media for hydrogen sulfide, iron, and a wide range of tastes, chemicals, and odors.
Causes red/orange staining with levels as low as 0.3 ppm. Treats both ferrous (clear water or dissolved) and ferric (red water or oxidized) iron.
The cause of rotten egg odor. Incorrectly referred to as sulfur most of the time.
A chemical commonly used to disinfect municipal water supplies. Prolonged exposure can lead to health problems. Catalytic carbon provides more effective removal than standard carbon
Removes a wide range of chemicals including chlorine, herbicides, pesticides, THM and MTBE
Catalytic Carbon service flows vary depending on target contaminate:
Hydrogen Sulfide - 3.3 GPM/cubic feet
Iron - 2 GPM/cubic feet
Chloramine - 2.5 GPM/cubic feet
Catalytic Carbon requires 10 GPM per SQUARE foot of tank area for backwashing

Service flow rate is the rate (in gallons per minute) at which the media can effectively treat your water. The listed number is the manufacturers recommend rate for maximum neutralization. Higher flow rates MAY be possible in situations where slightly acidic water is desired/acceptable or where incoming water is not very acidic to begin with.
Backwash Flow Rates
The backwash flow rate is the minimum rate that MUST be available to ensure proper backwashing and peak system performance. The number shown is the manufacturers recommend rate. Please note that lower backwash rates MAY be used, but system performance my be reduced.
