Big filter for little job
I bought this filter because my well water was .001 mg/l over the EPA recommendation. I choose this over a RO unit because I wanted a whole house filtration not just one sink. This thing is BIG! 24" tall and weighs a bit too. It comes with, what looks to be, 1/4" "L" bracket for the wall with attaching hardware the filter to bracket. No matching hardware for bracket to wall unfortunately. I have mine mounted with 3" lag screws going into two pieces of 2x4 for strength. The o-ring seal seems ok but I do have a slight drip. The instructions do not indicate that the threaded inlet & outlet are 1", although it is stated on the website. I did use a threaded reducer on 3/4" compression fittings for ease of installation. Overall the build quality seems very sturdy, the filter life span is 6-12 months nominal which is nice due to how much they cost to replace. The only thing I would recommend to the company is include a indication, gauge or flashing signal, for a dirty filter like my GE water filter has.
