Citric acid works great at removing iron and other contaminants from water softeners and backwashing filters, subsequently increasing the capacity and efficiency of the units.
Safe to use on most surfaces, including fiberglass, porcelain, glass, stainless steel and chrome. Great from cleaining hard water deposits from tubs, sinks, showers, faucets, ceramic tile, dishes, glassware, plasticware, ice machines, ultraviolet filters, humidifiers and distillers.

Product Description
Pro Ban T citric acid removes iron and other contaminants from fouled water softeners and backwashing filters, including iron & sulfur filters. Subsequently, it increases the capacity and efficiency of the units as well. Ban T should be used as preventative maintenance on all water softeners and filters in areas with moderate iron content. This safe, environmentally-friendly cleaning agent is non-toxic, non-corrosive, biodegradable, and can be used safely on virtually all surfaces. It removes hard water spots, lime, rust and scale deposits on fixtures and appliances. The 4.0 lb. bottle is good for 4-6 uses. Case of 6 bottles - 4.0 lbs. each (64 oz.).

1. First Time Use In:
-Water Softeners: Dissolve 2 cups of the powder in 1 qt. of warm water and pour into the brine well. For softeners with no brine well, pour into the salt storage tank when salt level is low. Manually regenerate the softener.
-Backwashing Filters: Dissolve 3 cups (entire 24 oz. bottle) into 2 quarts of warm water and pour into media tank. Run water at a faucet near the system for 30 seconds to pull the solution into the media, then put the system into bypass mode. Let the solution sit in the tank overnight and manually regenerate the next morning.
2. Preventative Maintenance For:
-Water Softeners: Add 1/2 cup to every 40 lbs. of salt added to brine tank, and layer it to ensure a continuous dose of Ban T during each regeneration.
-Backwashing Filters: Dissolve 2 cups into 1 quart of warm water and pour into media tank every 6-12 months. Continue with procedure for first time use instructions.
3. General Purpose Cleaning: Ban T can be used on fiberglass, porcelain, glass, stainless steel or chrome to remove hard water deposits from tubs, sinks, showers, faucets, ceramic tile, dishes, glassware, plasticware, ice machines, ultra violet filters, humidifiers and distillers.
