Clack WS1 Parts and Water Softener Rebuild Kits

A Clack valve that leaks, refuses to cycle, or sends water to drain around the clock is usually not a dead valve. More often it is one worn seal, one tired piston, or one spacer stack that has done its ten years and needs replacing. The valve body and the electronics are typically fine.

That is the case for keeping a parts drawer instead of a credit card handy. A rebuild on a WS1 costs a fraction of a new control valve, and the work is within reach of anyone comfortable shutting off a water supply and following a manual.

WS1 Interior Rebuild Kits

The WS1 Interior Kit Bundle (SKU CP-WS1-Rebuild) is the workhorse of this category. It contains three genuine Clack part numbers that together replace the main interior wear components of a WS1 control valve:

  • Downflow piston V3011
  • Brine regenerant piston V3174
  • Spacer stack V3005

Pistons, Spacer Stacks, and Seals

These are the parts that physically direct water through the valve. As the piston travels, the seals in the spacer stack open and close ports in sequence to move the valve between service, backwash, brine draw, and rinse. When a seal fails, the valve loses that separation — which is why a single damaged seal in the spacer stack cage will let water leak continuously out the drain.

The Clack V3005-02 spacer stack assembly (black and grey, SKU CP-V3005) is a genuine Clack part and the correct fix for that fault. Replace damaged seals rather than mixing components from different sources; the tolerances matter and mismatched parts cause new leaks.

Injectors and Meter Assemblies

Injector assemblies are matched to tank diameter and flow direction, and colour-coded so you can identify them at a glance:

Both are supplied with O-rings and are listed for WS1 and WS1.25 valves. If you are unsure, check the sizing chart on the product page rather than guessing from memory — most people misremember their tank diameter.

The WS1 Meter Replacement Assembly V3003 (current part number V3003-05, SKU CP-3003-05) covers the metering side. It includes the meter plug, O-ring, turbine, and cable, and fits Clack WS1 and WS1.25 valves. Confirm your exact valve model before ordering.

Electrical and Exterior Parts

  • V3108 circuit board for 5-button Clack water softener valves, interchangeable with the older version
  • V3186-06 power cord with 15V DC transformer fits Clack valves manufactured 2017 or newer only. Systems built before 2017 used an AC output and are not compatible. This catches people out regularly
  • V3175WC-A weather cover in almond, for WS1 3, 4, and 5-button valve front cover assemblies. Cover measures 7½" × 4¼" × 6"
  • V3193-02 universal repair wrench for removing and tightening pistons and for nuts and fittings across Clack softener and filter valves
  • Elbow locking clip, part 4615 for drain and brine elbows on WS1 valves
  • V4144-01 brine elbow assembly, 3/8" quick connect, for WS1 and WS1.25
  • O-rings: V3105 for distributor, adapter and bypass connections; V3180 for the mineral tank seal on 1" and 1¼" valves
  • CV3150 split ring used on many Clack valves and bypass valves
  • Adapters and tail pieces: V3007 1" PVC MIPT elbow adapters (set of 2), C-Series 1" PVC MIPT straight adapters (set of 2), and V3007-15 C-Series ¾" John Guest elbow adapters, which connect to CPVC, copper, and PEX
  • Upper distributor baskets for 1.05" distributor tubes, in standard and fine mesh, fitting many Fleck, Clack, and Autotrol valves
