Product Description
Sediment (floating particulates, sand, clay, etc.) and turbidity (suspended solids that cause cloudiness) are common problems in a wide variety of water situations. Removal of these contaminates provides clearer, cleaner water that is more appealing to the eyes.
Backwashing sediment filters offer a distinct advantage over typical cartridge filter systems with significantly reduced maintenance requirements. Since the system automatically backwashes itself there are no filters to change, which not only cuts down on maintenance time but costs as well.
Utilizing Filter-Ag media, this system is capable of removing particulates as small as 20µ (microns). For comparison, the width of a human hair is about 70 microns and the limits of human visiblity with the naked eye is about 40 microns.
Controlled by the Fleck 2510 control head, this system automatically backwashes. The backwash process simply forces water rapidly through the system in reverse direction, lifting the media and flushing accumulated particulates down the drain. Made by Fleck, the #1 manufacturer of control heads in the US, the larger 2510 valve allows for the higher backwash flow rates required for larger systems.

Service flow rate is the manufacturers recommendation for maximum filtration at a constant flow. Considerably higher rates are frequently used with successful results.
Backwash Flow Rates
The backwash flow rate is the minimum rate that MUST be available to ensure proper backwashing and adequate media life. While lower flows can be used and MAY provide adequate results, using less than the recommended flows WILL void the 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Warranties on the tank and control valve will remain unaffected.
