Product Description
Hard water causes a multitude of problems. Scale build-up restricts pipes, builds up on fixtures, and can degrade appliances. Hard water spots are also common on dishes and many other surfaces. The ions that comprise hard water attract soap molecules, requiring more soap to get the job done. This also causes an increase in soap scum and can prevent the removal of dirt and bacteria when bathing. Hard water has also been know to cause hair and skin to be brittle and dry.
Water softeners use an ion-exchange process to remove the ions that create hard water, eliminating hard water and the problems associated with it. Automatic regeneration initiated by a high quality Fleck metered head means high efficiency, consistent water treatment, and low maintenance. Soft water will extend the life of your appliances, decrease soap requirements, and decrease the occurrence of soap scum. Softer hair and skin are also common when using water that has been softened.
Fine mesh resin provides increased iron removal ability, treating ferrous iron as well as hardness, eliminating the need for a separate system in most applications. NOTE: For high iron levels or homes with ferric iron a dedicated iron filter is needed.
Controlled by the digital Fleck 2510SXT, efficiency and control come together in a user friendly interface. On demand regeneration keeps up with high demands and conserves water and salt when demand is low. This results in consistent treatment and higher efficiency. The 2510SXT controller is one of the best residential controllers from Fleck. It has a dual-motor design, compared to the single-motor design used in the 5600 valves. This results in less maintenance, stronger piston movement, and a longer lasting valve. These valves have an outstanding 5 year warranty and have been tested to run continuously for many years! In addition, the SXT controller offers some great features, including a backlit LCD display, touchpad controls, 48 hour internal power backup, and a user friendly interface.

Glad I went out on a limb! Fixed my water
Solved all my water problems. Before this unit was installed we had the iron algae growing in the back of the toilets, the water would turn brown if we let it sit overnight, and all of the appliances (washer, shower, sink, toilet, etc) were stained brown from the iron. Now we have none of that. I would have purchased along time ago if I had know it would work so well. Many website will tell you that you have to spend between $2,500 - $3,000 to fix a water problem like mine. Glad I went out on a limb and tried this, because it works great and for a lot less

This water softener is awesome! We almost bought one that does the same thing for three times the price! Someone helped us research and found this one. We have super hard iron well water. Orange stains on everything! I am so happy with this . Get this if you have bad water especially if you have calcification that builds up in your pipes. After setting it up ourselves, took my husband a day with instructions online. There was a leak on the top. We called the company, they sent the part free if course and it's worked fine since. Our water is so soft and sudsy. It doesn't smell anymore either. We saved so much money!

Great Product, but lacking documentation
The Iron Pro System is installed and is operating fine. The packages were delivered with some shipping damage to the containers but nothing was broken inside. Installation was straight-forward and easy. My only complaints are that the documentation sent with control unit is not for my unit, luckily I was able to download a manual from the manufacture. Additionally, there is no explanation how to calculate the compensated hardness, this system is designed as a softener/Iron removal but nowhere does it discuss how to set the hardness setting correctly. **AFW Response** Installation instructions are available on our support page - www.afwfilters.com/support/ They include programming instructions which cover calculating compensated hardness.
