The catalytic carbon media filters out a wide range of tastes, odors and chemicals, including chlorine, herbicides, & pesticides AND hydrogen sulfide. The KDF 85 media filters out iron AND hydrogen sulfide, which is not removed by the KDF 55 media. Thus, the catalytic carbon combined with the KDF-85 results in a fantastic filter for ridding your water of hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell).
Filter measures 20-inch long and 4.5-inch in diameter.
Fits in all standard 20" Big Blue filter housings.
Product Description
The Big Blue 20" Catalytic Carbon/KDF 85 filter can be used to replace a current filter or upgrade from the carbon block filter or standard GAC filter. The KDF-85 media enables the filter to remove iron AND hydrogen sulfide. Paired with the catalytic carbon, this filter does a fantastic job at removing hydrogen sulfide and other tastes & odors from your water. The filter measures 4.5-inch in diameter and 20-inch long and fits all standard 20-inch Big Blue housings. Used in conjunction with a sediment filter and/or carbon block filter, the system will provide a wide range of treatment. Typical life expectancy varies greatly depending on water parameters and usage. Recommended replacement is at least once a year, with every six months typical.
