Removes a wide range of chemicals much better than standard carbon, including chlorine, chloramines, herbicides, pesticides, MTBE, THM, and hydrogen sulfide.
Treats a maximum flow rate of 5 gallons per minute (see more info tab for details)
The upflow system eliminates the need for backwashing or electricity to operate. Additionally, the system requires no chemicals or additives. This results in a low maintenance system with low operating costs. These systems are intended for water supplies with little to no sediment or particulates.
Simple head eliminates moving parts to reduce maintenance costs
Catalytic carbon is a high activity coconut shell based granular carbon that is specifically designed for the reduction of chloramines and hydrogen sulfide from potable water. It provides much greater adsorbtion than standard carbon, which results in better contaminant removal and longer lasting media.
Simple system connections and detailed installation instructions allow most homeowners to install this system themselves. For those who prefer to leave the work to a professional, most plumbers can install the system in 1-2 hours.
Eliminate wastewater and reduce your energy use with a GreenFlow™ Carbon system. This upflow system reverses the normal flow of water through the media bed, eliminating the need for a backwash. Since the media works through the process of adsorption, you still get effective treatment of chlorine, tastes, odors, and chemicals all without electricity or wasted water.
Homes on city water will enjoy chlorine and chloramine removal, eliminating a harmful chemical and preventing respiratory problems that may be associated with chlorinated water. Homes on well water will benefit from the removal of herbicides and pesticides that can find their way into water supplies. In both cases, carbon filtration improves the appeal of water, removing tastes and odors that can discourage healthy drinking water habits.

Service flow rate is the manufacturer's recommendation for maximum removal of all contaminants at a constant flow. Intermittent flow rate, lower contaminant levels and/or fewer contaminants MAY allow higher treatment flow rates. In most applications intermittent flow rates of 2-3 times the rated flow rate MAY be possible.
