Choice of connection
Designed for 1-2 bathrooms and 2-4 people and/or homes with flows matching system capacities
Lower backwash rates and less frequent backwash cycles reduce wasted water compared to similar Filox and Pyrolox systems
Causes red/orange staining with levels as low as 0.3 ppm. Treats both ferrous (clear water or dissolved) and ferric (red water or oxidized) iron.
The cause of rotten egg odor. Incorrectly referred to as sulfur most of the time.
Motor is connected directly to the piston, reducing gears and improving reliability
Treats a maximum flow rate of 5.28 gallons per minute
Requires a minimum of 3.6 GPM for backwashing. 4.4 GPM is recommended for optimal system performance and media life.
Combines reliability and digital ease-of-use
Durable, high quality polyglass tank made by a trusted name in tank manufacturing
Lighter media provides excellent treatment with less waste water
Simple system connections and detailed installation instructions allow most homeowners to install this system themselves. For those who prefer to leave the work to a professional, most plumbers can install the system in 1-2 hours.
Iron is a common problem in homes today. It causes red staining on fixtures, as well as turning clothes and sometimes even your hair a reddish orange color. Iron bacteria is sometimes present in water with iron, creating a slimy build up in standing water (such as your toilet tank) and can smell like rotting vegetation. Hydrogen Sulfide (mistakenly called sulfur quite frequently) is easily detected by the presence of a "rotten egg" odor, and is sometimes associated with yellow staining.
The KL system provides great contaminate removal while offering good service flow rates and minimal backwash requrement. Compared to similar systems that require backwashing with 80-90 gallons every 1-3 days, this system can backwash with as little as 20-30 gallons once a week! For homes with low available flow rates or those looking to reduce water use the KL system is just what you need.
Controlled by the Fleck 2510SXT control head, this system automatically backwashes. The backwash process uses no chemicals, simply using the force of water to clean the media and flush the contaminants down the drain. Made by Fleck, the #1 manufacturer of control heads in the US, the digital control head provides LCD display and touchpad controls, allowing for simple, user-friendly integration. The 2510 valve also offers a dedicated motor for piston movement prividing stronger piston control, fewer parts (since there are no connecting gears required) and longer, more reliable operation.
Service flow rate is the manufacturers recommendation for maximum contaminant removal at a constant flow for media alone. Intermittent flow rate and/or lower contaminant levels MAY allow higher treatment flow rates.
Backwash Flow Rates
The backwash flow rate is the minimum rate that MUST be available to ensure proper backwashing and adequate media life. While lower flows can be used and MAY provide adequate results, using less than the recommended flows WILL void any satisfaction guarantee. Warranties on the tank and control valve will remain unaffected.
